The
following software versions are supported:

version 10.0 and later. We no longer officially support eDOCS 5.3.1.

You
must enable the DM system parameter Allow SQL Pass Through in order to run
WincTools and the add-on modules.
·
If
WincTools or any WGSL application fails to start on a 64-bit operating system,
you may need to change the default DEP behavior on your computer. For Windows
10, this is set in Windows’ Computer Properties – System Protection – Advanced
– Performance Settings – Data Execution Protection – Turn on DEP for essential
Windows programs and services only
·
Functions
that process documents will perform better if unused and duplicate columns are
removed from profile forms. This is also true for overall performance in eDOCS.
·
Before
running TBLCOMP, you should always first disable all triggers, and then enable
them after the upgrade is complete.
·
When
selecting documents by a date range, if the language on the WincTools computer
is different than the language of the database, the query to identify documents
may fail. The workaround would be to use the No Date button on the date
selection screen.
·
To
improve performance of many WincTools functions, including Move User, Transfer
Documents, Missing Document Files and Missing Document Profiles, you should map
the share of the target document server(s) before running these functions, and
disable shadowing.
·
You
must manually refresh a list if you no longer wish to have deleted items
appear.
·
You
must exit and restart WincTools if you add or remove tables, or if you change
the Setup options to List Validation Tables Only or Load Domains at startup.
·
There
may be a slight delay when the cancel button is pressed during lengthy
operations.
·
If
you minimize WincTools while it is performing an operation, you may not be able
to restore the form back to its normal size until the operation is completed.
WINCWALL:
·
If
you are running WincWall and a Network Security Service (DSSS or DSSA),, you
will need to stop and restart the service after setting up WincWall on each
library for the changes to take effect.
·
You
are allowed to use WincTools for evaluation purposes for a period of 60 days
from the program date, or 30 days from the date of installation, or a total of
15 times, whichever comes first. Unless you purchase and register this program,
WincTools will cease to function after the expiration of the evaluation period.
·
In
addition, the evaluation copy of WincTools is limited to copying 10 rows
(including documents) per session.

In Export documents from a list, when the list
includes document numbers, the Export will determine if the item is a folder,
and if so, will add any documents in that folder (including subfolders) to the
list for Export.
